Calligraphy Workshop with Ink + Root

Calligraphy Workshop with Ink + Root

So we took a calligraphy class...

And it was the best thing ever. Being lovers of all things pretty, we have always been obsessed with Calligraphy and hand lettering. We are always in search of talented vendors in our area and we stumbled upon Ink + Root's  incredibly put together Instagram last summer. When we saw that Hannah from Ink + Root was having a work shop, we obviously jumped at the chance to be a part of it. With hands shaky from too much Sunday morning coffee, we showed up having no idea what to expect. My best friend Baylie and I arrived, surprisingly on time, and were greeted by the incredibly sweet Hannah and a styled cocktail and desert bar. After grabbing our pecan vodka and apple cider cocktails we headed to our seats. The long table was wrapped in brown paper with a long garland running down the center. The garland was adorned with fresh pomegranates, tangerines, and vintage brass candle sticks. SWOON! At our seats, we were provided with a calligraphy workbook, ink, a special calligraphy pen, two nibs, and a notepad. Since this was only a beginners class we focused mostly on the stroked of the calligraphy pen and less about writing pretty words and quotes. Trust me y'all, this is so much harder than it looks. Hannah came around to each person assessing our work and making sure we weren't getting stuck on certain letters and strokes. A full table of sixteen of us sat around writing the alphabet and laughing at ourselves when the letters didn't turn out just so. Ink + Root will be hosting these workshops once a month.  I encourage anyone who is interested in hand lettering or someone who just wants to spend a few hours on a Sunday learning something new to take this amazing class. You can sign up for the workshops on their website. I can't say that I am a natural, but I am so excited to continue practicing and working on this craft. Here are some photos from the workshop.

It's Okay To Change Your Mind

It's Okay To Change Your Mind

Ladies, I Promise It Is Okay To Change Your Mind

I met with one of my brides last night and she was worried about the fact that her vision for the Denver wedding had changed since her first consultation. With her wedding being nine months away she was worried she would not be allowed to make changes to her original ideas. When planning the biggest day of your life, you have tons of ideas coming at you from multiple directions. From Pinterest to your future mother in law, everyone has an opinion and wants to give their two cents on what they think you should do. In the long run, stay true to yourself and what you picture your special day to look like. I promise that it is okay to change your mind! Your vendors want you to be happy, so just talk to them and express your concerns! Discuss your new vision and most vendors will be happy to work with you. Relax, it is all good! We love our clients new vision and we can't wait to make it come alive at Moss Denver in September.

Kelsey & Adam's Breckenridge Wedding

Kelsey & Adam's Breckenridge Wedding

Kelsey & Adam's "Brepic" Weekend

Kelsey & Adam met on a ski trip. It doesn't get more Colorado than that? These two got married at Beaver Run Resort, a beautiful mountain resort in Breckenridge. The ceremony took place on the back lawn at Beaver run. The couple was married by their good friend Jared, under the beautiful birch tree hoopah their family had built for them. The two exchanged their own vows that made even a seasoned vet like me shed a tear. The couple sealed the deal with a kiss and the ceremonial smashing of the glass. The party moved upstairs to the Copper Top Bar located at the base of Peak 9 while the newlyweds snuck off into the forest to capture some of these incredible photos. .After cocktail hour the guests enjoyed their dinners and some emotional toasts from the bridal party. Everyone in the room was so happy for these two to finally be married. The reception was filled with good music and dancing, which quickly led to the couple and their families being hoisted in the air for the horrah! The bride wanted her wedding to feel as joyous and as fun as a getaway ski weekend and her guests got just that.

Cemented in Love Industrial Styled Shoot

Cemented in Love Industrial Styled Shoot

Exposed beams, concrete, & brick oh my!

When I met my favorite photographer friend, Kristen, we immediately hit it off. We spent multiple meetings at Fluid Coffee Bar drinking far too much coffee and brainstorming far too many ideas to narrow down a real vision for our styled shoot. We decided to find the perfect dress for our model, Madison, and that the dress would direct the vision for the shoot. We basically hit the jackpot when we found this Liancarlo dress. From there we did a complete 180 on what we thought we wanted to do and created an entirely new concept. Our Cemented in Love industrial styled shoot was inspired by clean lines, light blues and grays, and an effortless simplicity that speaks volumes. We wanted the location to be broken down and industrial and we found just that in the heart of Downtown Denver. Madison and her hubby were truly the stars of the shoot and their newly wedded bliss shows in each and every frame.  See all of the photos here. Thank you to all of the vendors that made this possible! (Credits at the bottom)

The Promise Gift Guide For The Bride In Your Life

The Promise Gift Guide For The Bride In Your Life

I know that I'm not the only one...

Running around like a crazy person and scrambling to figure out what to get my friends and loved ones for Christmas. With only 5 more days 'til the fat guy screams "HO HO HO" let us help you out. This isn't the gift guide for your grandma, your dad, or that hot guy from the office, but for the bride in your life. Check out these super simple and super affordable gifts that will leave your blushing bride saying "OMG! You're the best!"

Kate Spade Idiom Bangle $58

nbewon;f.jpg

You really cant go wrong with Kate Spade. This sweet bangle was designed with the bride in mind. It is delicately engraved with cute sayings like cue the confetti, cheers, kiss the bride, tie the knot, toss the bouquet, and cut the cake. It comes in 12 Karat gold or sterling silver, so you really cant lose. Give your girl this gift and get her excited for her happily ever after.

First Christmas Ornament $19

Kind of like a babies first Christmas ornament...but better. Being engaged is such an amazing time and it flies by in the blink of an eye. Remember it forever with this sweet personalized gift. Nothing says Christmas spirit like an ornament!

Bride To Be Stemless Wine Glass $16

Bottoms up bride! After a long day of work, play, or planning a wedding, nothing is better than a (large) glass of wine. This right here will give her 20 ounces of pure happiness. There is no shame in a heavy pour. Why not have bride etched on absolutely everything while she still can.

Custom Return Address Stamp $45

Help a sista out and buy the bride in your life a custom return address stamp like this one from flourish design co. on Etsy. She will thank you later when she's sending out all those save the dates, invitations, & thank you cards. Life, saved.

A Spa Day (Prices May Vary)

Planning a wedding is stressful, and sometimes we take on that stress physically. Be the best, best friend ever and give the gift that every bride needs. Book this for just the bride, the bride and her fiancé, or you can slightly selfishly give her a bff spa day (no shame in your game girl). We love A New Spirit in DOwntown Denver. They offer massages, sensory deprivation tanks, acupuncture, and lots of other incredible treatments. Thank me later.

OMG, You're Engaged Wine Bottle Labels $8 (Wine Not Included, ugh)

Because why not give your bestie what she really needs, more wine. Purchase these adorable labels and add them to your brides favorite bottles of wine. If your lucky, she might even pop a cork and share her gift with you. Can't beat that!

His & Hers Mugs $32

Because coffee, duh. These his and hers mugs are a classic and should be a staple in any newlyweds home. This gift is simple, timeless, and a perfect thinking of you gift.

Future Mrs Headband $9

Monogramed Ring Dish $9

Bling, bling, I got the ring is right! Get your girl even more excited about the bachelorette party to come with this future mrs headband! This is the more understated approach to the bachelorette sash, but don't worry your girl will still get free drinks all night long. With this shiny gold number on her pretty little head, you cant go wrong. I bought one of my bride friends a pink one like this in a boutique in Denver and she just loved it.

Someone put a ring on it and now she needs a place to store it. Keep her shiny, new ring safe by buying her this keepsake dish that she will keep forever & ever.

So run along and get dashing through the snow to get the bride in your life something she will really love. With gifts like this, you will definitely be on the nice list. Maybe even the bridesmaid list! Eek!
