Margot and Julian met while they both attended CU Boulder! I’ve also known Margot since college because we both joined the same sorority! Initially, Margot thought she wanted a big wedding but the planning for her was super daunting. She decided that she wanted to scale things down to just 25 guests and of course hire a wedding planner, AKA me! On the day of their wedding The bride and some of the brides closest friends got ready in a suite at Hotel Boulderado. With the help of Divine Beauty Artists, the ladies got ready and enjoyed some champagne while zooming and FaceTiming with all of their close friends that couldn’t be there on the couples special day! After slipping on her gorgeous silk dress the bride headed to the top of Sunrise Amphitheater for her first look with Julian! Let’s not forget the Groom, who also looked super dapper in his black suit and Gucci loafers bought for him by his bride. It had been raining all morning and we were starting to get worried that the outdoor ceremony would get rained out. The second the couple got to their first look spot the clouds opened up for us and there was even a rainbow that photobombed some of their first photos. It couldn’t have been more beautiful. The ceremony arrangements and bouquet by Boulder Blooms were so stunning and made a big impact on the backdrop of Boulder as far as the eye could see! After taking a few amazing first look photos (see all the perfection captured by Ariele Chapman Photography below), the couple read their personal vows to one another. There were laughs, there were tears and there were more laughs. Guests arrived on the shuttle and we passed out CU themed masks for everyone to wear to be extra safe and covid compliant. We also made everyone wear them for a group photo after the ceremony which really were signs of the times. The bride walked down the aisle with her father to acoustic music by Ryan Hutchens. The ceremony was officiated by Margot’s sister Cara who made the ceremony so personal and special. Margot and Julian kissed and made it officially official! The reception took place at the famous Frasca Food & Wine on pearl street. The couple did a restaurant buyout and they were able to take over the whole space for their 5 course meal with special wine pairings. To celebrate their marriage Margot did a champagne saboring all on her own (with the guidance of Bobby Stuckey of course!) What a bad ass!

How To Make Your Wedding Day Special During COVID 19

How To Make Your Wedding Day Special During COVID 19

How To Make Your Wedding Day Special During COVID 19

We are so devastated about the state of the world and what it has done to the most important day of your life. We couldn’t even pretend to understand exactly how you and your partner are feeling, but we truly believe that celebrating love still can and should be done. I hate to say it, like literally hate to, but it is a “trying time” right now so bringing any happiness we can to what could have been is all we can do! Here are a few ways that you can make your original wedding day just as special during COVID 19!

Have an Extra Nice Date Night: Not just any date night but a wedding date night. Many bakeries and floral shops are still open for delivery and pick up and would so happy to give you a smaller version of your planned florals or a cutting cake in your favorite flavor from your cake tasting. Us vendors are sad that things aren’t going as planned for you and we want to help you celebrate in any way we can! Here are some of our favorite places that would love to help you out:

A Cake Come True

Ruby Jean Patisserie

Cak The Bakery

Emma Lea Floral

Beet and Yarrow

Sara Mica Designs

Read Your Vows: If you already have your vows written read each other what you would have said on this day. If you don’t have your vows written, take some time alone in different rooms and write all of your favorite things about each other and the things you might have said at the alter! You can still read these vows at your big wedding when the time comes or write all new ones. Either way you will be expressing your love for one another in a way you might not have on any given night. This will make the night meaningful and full of love!

Zoom With Your Faves: I know Zoom meetings have become so popular during these times but it is the best way to get all your favorite people in the same place at the same time. So send out an invite and celebrate with all the people you would have seen on that day! You can even send your closest guests a favor box that includes a shot and take them all together at the same time!

Dress up: Wear your wedding dress and have him wear his suit. Pop some expensive champagne and get a little tipsy, dance around in your kitchen together to your first dance song or just do whatever feels real and authentic to the two of you! Make it extra special by setting up the self timer and taking photos no matter how silly you feel, you will want this memory forever!

Start Wearing Your Rings: So many girls are just counting down the day until they get to see that ring on HIS finger. Make a pact to start wearing your wedding rings on the day you would have been married. This will keep your pre covid special day in your hearts forever and allow you to show your love outwardly by wearing your rings!

STILL GET MARRIED!: If you already have your marriage license sign the damn thing! The Denver courts are still issuing and accepting marriage licenses by mail and at their drop boxes! Keep the day special by actually making it official! Small weddings of ten people or less are still totally legal and you can plan your big celebration for another day next year!

We hope these little tips will help soften the blow of your postponed wedding. If your day was ruined by this virus, we would love to help you talk through your new plans! We are giving completely FREE Covid Consultations and would love to walk you through some of our suggestions on what to do next! Just send us a message and we will hop on a Zoom call. We’ll have a glass of wine, a quick cry, and get to work! We’re in this together!

Contemporary Fall Inspiration at Cottonwood Glen with Promise Event Planners & Tamara Gruner Photography Featured in Grey Likes Weddings

This was a contemporary fall inspiration shoot...

Grey Says "If you’re looking for “A Moody and Modern Twist on Fall,” that is exactly what you will find in this stunning shoot by TAMARA GRUNER PHOTOGRAPHY and PROMISE EVENT PLANNERS. The deeply colored florals with pops of white ranunculus and blush roses in the florals designed by YONDER FLORAL & DÉCOR HOUSE, and the non-traditional black china table settings are certain to inspire the contemporary bride with dreams of a fall or winter wedding. We’re obsessing over the beautiful details that this gifted team brought together, and we think you will too."

Inspiration from Payton (Promise Event Planners): This shoot was inspired by my parents’ wedding china. My parents were married in Texas in 1990. While everyone was registering for classic white and blue or floral china, my parents decided on this modern, onyx black hexagon set. They were way ahead of their time and passed along their love of black to me.

From the china, we built a dark colored and modern mood for the shoot. We went for blacks, deep emerald greens, with pops of white, and assorted metals. I have a love for combining contrasting design styles. We combined modern clean lines and shapes in a natural and organic space at Cottonwood Glen.

Through the medium of film, Tamara Gruner Photography effortlessly captured each image while taking her time to get the perfect shot. Her eye and use of natural light and fine art style was a compliment to the modern styling that blended in contrasting harmony.

House of Yonder created a textured bouquet of dark lush greenery and fall foliage with soft touches of blush garden roses and white ranunculus. The spilling organic centerpiece gracefully complimented the mid-century modern style table, wood slat chairs, and wooden tapered candle holders. The black champagne flutes were complimented by the green crystal goblets. They also provided the lounge setting staged in the middle of a field.

The stationery suite by Stefanie Hofmeister was comprised of a black origami inspired folded invitation. The opening of the invite revealed a modern script and organic polka dotted pattern. The envelopes were a contrasting black with white calligraphy. Stefanie added in touches of glimmering copper to tie in the metallic touches.

The models have a remarkable story of their own. The couple met on a styled bridal shoot years ago. While pretending to be a couple in love and displaying their chemistry, they fell for each other during their shoot. The rest is history. They are now married with two beautiful children. Their real-life love shined through in the photos more than we could have imagined. The groom wore a classic black suite with a polka dotted black bow tie. The bride adorned a two-piece gown from Emma & Grace Bridal. The modern constructed bodice met the flowy bottom to create a sexy yet ethereal bridal look.

Using my parent’s actual china in the shoot was something that was so personal and incredibly special. This shoot was a breathtaking combination of opposites that came together to create something so beautiful and seamless.

Sarah & Edgard's Dreamy Telluride Elopement

When Sarah reached out to me and told me she wanted to get married at the top of Telluride Mountain with seven guests in attendance I almost fell out of my chair. Not only had I never been to Telluride (some native huh?) but how romantic, intimate and freaking perfect! For Sarah and Edgard’s April first nuptials we booked the STUNNING San Sophia Overlook. The couple wanted to keep things really intimate with only their parents and brothers and sisters to celebrate this special day with. We kept the design simple and let these large arrangements by Emma Lea Floral and let that view speak for itself. The couple was married by the amazing officiant Phil Gallager, who kept the couple laughing through freezing cold temperatures and trying to get the rings on the couples bright red fingers. The whole mountain had been cleared of skiers and was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. It was beyond perfect! After they said “I do” the family head down the gondola and enjoyed a private culinary experience at The Cosmopolitan Telluride. “I never thought she would be getting married in snow boots,” Sarah said. Which is no shocker coming from the mouth of an Austin, Texas girl, “But I am so thankful I did!”

Helen & Jeremy's Space Gallery Wedding

Helen and Jeremy were married at The Space Gallery on August 30th! The couple are long time friends of mine (Were talking middle school people) and the couple have known each other since high school but reconnected at a red rocks show after high school (my kinda people)! To start their day off, the couple did their first look at Union Station! This first look was full of tears and lots and lots of long hugs! After bridal party photos the couple headed to The Space Gallery to do that damn thing and get married! The couple was surrounded by 170 of their favorite people as they said I do in a short but sweet ceremony! After the ceremony cocktail hour was held out on the back patio where guests drank and played lawn games. Meanwhile the Promise team was flipping the whole gallery from ceremony to reception! Guests found their seat assignments by checking the large acrylic circular sign created by Handsome Love Calligraphy. The reception space was covered with neon signs made by the bride who works for Flashing Neon Signs! Check out their website for all of your neon sign needs! Thank you so much to Helen and Jeremy for trusting me with their special day! It was a freaking blast! Cheers to The Richards!

Here’s what Helen had to say about working with the Promise Event Planners team!

I couldn't have done this without Payton and her team. Wedding planners are truly the best use of $$ when planning your day and when things all start to unfold and get crazy. Payton is timely, responsible, on top of EVERYTHING and her team is just amazing. They flipped our ceremony room to be ready for dinner + reception in record timing and made everything look perfect. From start to finish, I have zero regrets about hiring Payton. She made me feel completely at ease about it all, she made sure to handle everything on her end and just keep the show going smoothly. I can't imagine dumping all of what she did onto my family, so I'm so glad she was there to be my right hand woman. Grateful for you, Promise Event Planners!!!

Helen chose our Month Of Coordination Package to give her peace of mind on her wedding day and the months leading up to it! Does this sound like the perfect package of you? Reach out to us and lets talk about your special day!
