Nowai & Patrick at Highlands Ranch Mansion

Nowai and Patrick were married at a historic Colorado Mansion in early August. The couple wanted to create a fairytale vibe with small elements of the brides African culture intertwined. The Highlands Ranch Mansion has beautiful vintage get ready suites for both the bride and groom where they got dressed for their ceremony. The ceremony took place on the front steps of the Mansion while guests took their seat in the historic drive. The bridal party made their long journey down the aisle from the iron gate situated in the front of the property. Before the bride walked down the aisle two ballerinas dressed in light blue tutus danced their way down the long drive to prepare for the brides awaited arrival. Nowai and Patrick were married by their uncle who filled the ceremony with love and personal details. After saying their personal vows and with a light sprinkling of rain, the couple sealed it with a kiss. The bride and groom and their party danced their way back down the aisle signaling it was time for the real party to begin. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour and gourmet apps on the back deck and the newlyweds made a grande entrance into their cocktail hour by pouring a champagne tower under the gazebo. The inside of the ballroom was adorned in white and blush floral elements, some sitting low on the tables with soft candle light and large lush overhead centerpieces down long kings tables. Each table was draped in a velvet cream linen with woven wood charges to bring in a hint of that African vibe. After dinner and heartfelt speeches the couple changed into their African attire and did the traditional Grand March and closed out the night with lots and lots of dancing!

Small Wedding Details That Are Worth The Money

Small Wedding Details That Are Worth The Money

Heaters, Blankets and Hot Cocktails: Nothing is worse than being cold. With Colorado’s weather being so unpredictable we suggest renting heaters to make your guests nice and cozy if you are having your wedding outside between October and May. You don’t have to get blankies for every guest but having the option is so nice and your guests will thank you for anticipating their needs!

Signage & Paper Goods: We have all been to wedding and know the general way that weddings go, but at the end of the day all weddings are different! Signage is an amazing way to keep your guests in the know. Maybe you are having a wedding at a venue where there will be more than one wedding at a time. Have a large Welcome Sign to greet your guest and make sure they know they are in the right place. Maybe you have a non traditional wedding day timeline, so having a timeline or series of events sign or timeline information given out at the welcome party or on the back of the ceremony program could be helpful! Giving guests the necessary information before they even ask puts all of your guests at ease.

Comfortable Chairs & Lounges: Many hours of your wedding day will have guests butts in seats. So why not make them comfortable? Renting chairs isn’t always the cheapest option but it makes such a big difference to your guests and the look and feel of your space. If you are planning on having quite a few older guests this is great for them too! Lounge set ups are the perfect way to add soft seating to a space and can also create a great photo back drop for fun photos!

Somewhere for People to Escape: I know it’s hard for some of us to understand, but some people don’t like to dance. I know this sounds crazy to a girl like me who never leaves a dance floor, but it’s the truth. This is why we always suggest having a space for guests to get away from the dancing and enjoy themselves the way they feel comfortable. Some guests would rather spend time catching up with family friends than tearing up the dance floor. Even the biggest dancers might need to take a breath before heading back to the dance floor. This can be as simple as a quiet patio outside or a lounge area away from the action to give guests a good place to get away.

How Our Design Process Works

How Our Design Process Works

Design is what sets our full service package apart from the rest! When we are involved in the design process we get the opportunity to make your wedding completely and totally y’all. Our design process has many steps but it first starts with getting to know you! When you sign with us we send you a getting to know you questionnaire where we recommend our couples make this into a date night and sit down and answer some fun questions! In the getting to know you questionnaire we ask you everything from your story and your favorite places to travel and your personal style. From these questions we get a good sense of who our couples are and it gives us chances to personalize tiny little details in their design. Say the two of you met at a brewery. We will figure out a way to get the first beer you ever shared on the wedding day menu. Say you have fur babies that you need to be involved in your day, we will figure out how to make them the stars of the show even if there are no pets allowed on the venue site.

After our initial questionnaire we set up a design consultation. I love for this to be in person and if possible over a few cocktails so we can really get to know eachother. I have my couples start with finding all their favorite inspiration photos or a pinterest board.

Pro tip: Make a new pinterest board when you get engaged. You will be absolutely shocked thing things you pinned to your “My Wedding” board when you were in high school. lol.

From there we talk through all the tiny details of your special day from start to finish. We talk about color scheme, mood, attire, room layout, linens, glassware and so much more. But the biggest discussion is about special ways we can make your day different and authentic to you as a couple. From there, I take all my fun notes and create a design deck that has everything we discussed laid out in words and photos.

Design is our fave! But just because we love it doesn’t mean its not a ton of work! Our full design concepts are presented to you after about 4-6 weeks. We send off the initial design concept in an email so the couple can look it over together. Then we have another fun meeting where we talk over any of the likes, dislikes or off the wall suggestions I made to fine tune the design. Once we have our finalized design concept we can start sending it out to our dream vendor team to make all of our dreams come true. This is how we create the most personal, non traditional and fun weddings we possibly can! It is a labor of love and one of my fave parts of my job! I wanted to show y’all how a real design concept looks next to a gallery from a real wedding. These two were so sick and had one of my favorite designs of the year. You be the judge, did we do a good job of making this couples vision come to life?
